Huawei has launched the Y9s globally. The company’s newest mid-range smartphone is now official in some markets like Iraq. The Huawei Y9s is the global variant of the Honor 9X Pro that was launched in China back in July but with some modifications. The biggest modification is that the Huawei Y9s is powered by a Kirin 710F SoC and not Kirin 810 that powers the Honor 9X Pro.
Huawei Y9s Price and availability
The Huawei Y9s is priced at $239 (€215 and INR 17,000) in Iraq and those who Pre-order it will get gifts worth $99(INR 7,000). However, its sale date and availability in other regions is currently unknown.
Huawei Y9s Specifications and Design
In terms of design, the Huawei Y9s looks identical to the Honor 9X Pro. It gets a 6.59-inch notch-less LCD display with a FHD+ (2340×1080) resolution. The phone gets a side-mounted Fingerprint scanner and comes in Midnight Black and Breathing Crystal colours. It has screen-to-body ratio of 91%.
The Y9s is powered by a 2.2 GHz octa-core Kirin 710F SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal Memory. The smartphone runs Android Pie-based EMUI 9.1 out of the box and comes with 128GB of storage, which is expandable up to 512GB via microSD card.
Huawei Y9s features a triple camera setup that includes a 48MP f/1.8 main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfie there is a pop-up camera of 16MP sensor.
The Huawei Y9s features a side-mounted fingerprint reader which is embedded in the power button located on the right side below the volume rocker. The smartphone packs a 4,000 mAh battery which draws power through a USB-C port and charging it you will get a 10W charger in the box. There is No-fast charging support.
