Recently Redmi has Launched a new Smartphone in the Category Note series, which is Redmi Note 8 Pro and there are many confusions in the minds of people to choose the right smartphone in between the Note 8 Pro and POCO F1. The Poco is released in August 2018 and Note series in the September 2019.
|Redmi Note 8 Pro VS Poco F1|
The Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with the Latest Mediatek Helio G90T Gaming processor clocked at 2.05GHz speed. It comes with Quad camera Setup, which takes some cool pictures. The smartphone is suitable for high-end gaming and it comes with Liquid cooling system, which maintains its heat up to 45-degrees.
The Poco F1 comes with Last year flagship chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 clocked at 2.8 GHz speed. It has a dual-camera setup and it was the most underrated smartphone of the year 2018 and still selling at cheap prices. It is the cheapest smartphone with Snapdragon 845 Processor.
Before Getting into comparison, I wanna share a thing that there is a strong feeling of me that Xiaomi gonna launch Poco F2 in the coming months.
Comparison of Poco F1 and Redmi Note 8 Pro, haha don’t miss the conclusion part down there –
The Redmi Note 8 Pro has a Dew-drop or Dotch notch display and the Poco F1 has a big notch display. The Note 8 Pro almost gives the Full display experience but the F1 Display is annoying nowadays. There are many smartphones available in the market at cheap price with full display experience.
The Note 8 Pro has 6.53-inch super AMOLED HDR 398 PPI display with 2340 x 1080(Full HD+) pixels resolution and aspect ratio of 19.5:9 dot Notch display. It has a 2.5D curved glass display. There is a Gorilla Glass 5 Protection.
The F1 has a 6.18-inch Full HD+ LCD IPS 402.5 PPI display with 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution and aspect ratio of 18.7:9 Notch display. There is No Gorilla Glass Protection.
In-display section Redmi Note 8 Pro is the clear winner.
The Note 8 Pro has a Glass back with Gorilla Glass 5 protection with super colour options and the F1 has a Plastic back with some gradient design.
The thickness of both the smartphone is almost same with 8.8mm Thickness and the smartphones are not water-proof or dust-proof. Anyhow Note 8 Pro comes with splash-proof, which is an advantage in Note 8 Pro. Both the phone has a Liquid cooling system to protect the phone from heat dissipation. There is an Advanced cooling system installed in Note 8 Pro.
The weight of the Phones are different as there battery capacity and design is different. The weight of the Note 8 Pro is 199 grams and the weight of F1 is 181 grams. By using some protection for the phone the weight will increase more and for Note 8 Pro protection is must as it comes with a glass body. The glass body gets thumb impression and scratches too. But plastic doesn’t easily get any scratch or thumb impressions.
Result – For design, it’s your choice, whether you go with the Plastic or Glass body. As somebody loves glass and need futuristic design and some love old ones like a plastic body in the Poco F1.
There is the war between these Phones is because of the processor used in smartphones. The Poco has Flagship Snapdragon 845 chipset and the Note 8 Pro has Helio G90T, which is also a high mid-range processor and can beat Snapdragon in gaming. The Snapdragon comes with Adreno 630 GPU with 710 MHz frequency, which is fast and can handle games too. But, helio G90T also has Mali G-76 3EEMC4 with 800MHz frequency.
If we see it on paper then Poco F1 is the clear winner but hey listen, it’s a more than the year-old processor and some apps cannot work properly with the processor, especially the games. The Helio G90T is designed for gaming and it’s new processor and can handle games easily.
Result – In terms of multi-tasking NSaprgragon 845 is good but for gaming Helio G90T is far more than the Adreno 630 GPU. The gaming will be smooth in Note 8 Pro.
Here, is the major difference between the phones and the clear winner if I have to choose then Note 8 Pro won here. As it comes with Quad-camera setup and the Poco F1 has dual-camera setup. Both of them can record up to 4k resolution. There is Super slo-mo support up to 960 FPS in both devices and there is dedicated cameras for Portrait and macro shots in the Note 8 Pro, which is an advantage. There is a 20-megapixel front camera for taking a selfie in both smartphones.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro Quad-camera setup has 64-megapixel primary camera of Samsung with Pixel-binning technology and an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens with 117-degrees support. There are two cameras of 2-megapixel for Portrait shots and for taking macro-shots. Note 8 Pro takes awesome clicks as I have tested it on my own.
The Poco F1 comes with dual-camera setup of 12-megapixel primary camera and an 5-megapixel wide-angle lens camera. It also takes good pictures and I have seen some of them on my friend’s phone as he owns it.
Result – Redmi Note 8 Pro won it with no doubts.
The battery capacity of the Poco F1 is 4000mAh with type-C cable support and 4500mAh in Note 8 Pro with Type-C pin. There is not much difference in the battery capacity. As the Snapdragon 845 is built on 10nm technology, which consumes less power and the Helio G90T is built on 12nm technology, which is also good. But more than the snapdragon 845.
The display is also bigger in Note 8 Pro and AMOLED display takes less power. So, instead of having the High capacity battery in Note 8 Pro I don’t think that there will much difference in both the smartphones.
Both the smartphone can last more than a day. The difference is there is a fast charging support in both the phones but Xiaomi doesn’t provide the fast charger with the Poco F1 and Note 8 Pro comes with an 18W fast charger in the box. There is QC 3.0 support in the Poco F1. There is no power-saving mode in the Poco F1 and Note 8 Pro has it. Both the smartphones batteries cannot be removed.
Result – Note 8 Pro wins because they provide an 18W fast charger in the box. If you can but it then you can purchase Poco.
The Poco is launched a year back and Note 8 Pro is just launched. The Poco has the MIUI 10 with Android 9 and Xiaomi has also released the MIUI 11 update with Android 10 for the Poco F1 in-phase mode. It will be last Android update for the Poco F1 as they only provide android updates up to 2 years and you will get security patch update quarterly afterwards.
The note 8 Pro also comes with MIUI 10 and Android 9 Pie. The update of Android 10 and MIUI 11 will be released in December as said by the Xiaomi itself. There will be software support for more 2 years as it is just released.
There is also an advantage in the Note 8 Pro as there is official support of Alexa voice assistant. So, if you don’t like the Google voice assistant then you can switch between them. There is no official support in Poco F1.
Security and Android Update is the main thing the phone to protect from malware. So, buying an old phone is not a good choice if we concern for security.
Result – Note 8 Pro is the winner as there are more 2 years of software support left for the phone.
The Poco F1 and Note 8 Pro comes with Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Dual VO-LTE support, and other basic sensors with Infrared sensor to use the phone as remote.

According to my buying, a year-old phone is not a good choice. So, I go for the Redmi Note 8 Pro and there are also some other reasons like Quad-camera, AMOLED Display, Dot-Notch panel and Latest in the market.
